Seraphine’s Escape Ch.2


Seraphine’s Escape was written to share online with others in the form of a picture story. For those of you who are familiar with The Sims PC game, you may know that they have a large interactive online community where people can exchange stories and other elements of the game, such as characters, building tools, furniture, and clothing. I used to be a big Sims fan when the game first came out (and I still am), so after viewing tons of stories from others, I decided to create my own short story to share. I wrote what I would describe as an elementary story since my goal was to develop the scenes and pictures to upload online. So because of that, I wanted to write a story that I felt I would be able to recreate the scenes from the game. Seraphine’s Escape is influenced by the stories, The Wizard of Oz and Cinderella. It’s not a unique story, which I never intended to be. This story was purely written as a foundation for the scenes I planned to create.

Brief Synopsis—Influenced by The Wizard of Oz, a story of a young woman who becomes trapped in her own dream, but does not want to leave. Can her guardian friend convince her before time runs out?

Chapter Two—Seraphine’s Longing

Ever since Seraphine was a little girl, she had always dreamed of running away—to a place far from any place she has been. She dreamed of being in a place as close to heaven as possible. A place where it was never night, only day. A place where it never rained, always shined.

She always had recurring dreams where she was in such a place. She imagined seeing herself happy, lively, and healthy, where money was not needed and therefore not a problem, unlike her real life.

She imagined having friends who understood her and always enjoyed her company.

She imagined having all the things money cannot buy and not needing the things money can…
