Lost

Lost

I thought I knew where I was going
Surely the path was right
I studied my ways, for days and days
Traveling on all sorts of terrains
Where did I go wrong?
I swore I saw my destination in sight
I can’t believe I was wrong
When I thought I was right

Lost, that’s all I am
Lost, like a little lamb
Lost, can’t even find a friend
Lost, I’m not pretending
I am lost

I thought I knew the key to happiness
How to get to a place where I would be blessed
I observed the ways of those who tried and failed
To set out on a course that wouldn’t lead
To a sinking sail
I swore I discovered the meaning of life
I can’t believe I was wrong
When I thought I was right

Lost, that’s all I am
Lost, like a little lamb
Lost, can’t even find a friend
Lost, I’m not pretending
I am lost
